Sims Barnettwas born in Wayne County, Tennessee on December 30, 1927 the son of the late Will S. and Nellie B. Brewer Barnett.On August 19, 1952 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Henley, who survives.Mr. Barnett was a sole layer for Brown Shoe Company for 20 years. He had previously worked for the Towboat for 2 years and had done lawn care for about 15 years. He loved the outdoors, was an expert coon hunter, and raised coon dogs. Mr. Barnett enjoyed working on lawn mowers and other machinery. He had grew up in the Wayne County, Tennessee area and had lived in Hardin County since marriage in 1952. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.Mr. Barnett departed this life on Monday, September 6, 2010 at the age of 82 years, 8 months, 7 days.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kay Barnett Gravino and husband Marvin of Lexington, South Carolina; 2 grandchildren, Zane and Lindsey Gravino.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, 2 infant children, Wanda Gay Barnett and Clinton Timothy Barnett; 3 sisters, Verdie Beckham, Ida Mae Morgan, and Lucille House; 2 brothers, Melvin and Harold Barnett.
