Sparks N. Fields, age 78 of Memphis, died Saturday morning, July 9, at Methodist North in Memphis.
Mr. Fields was born May 11, 1933 to Neal and Flossie Sparks Fields in Hardeman County. He had lived in Memphis since 1953 and was a member of Scenic Hills Baptist Church. He served our country in the National Guard and was a truck dispatcher working 42 years in transportation, retiring from Memphis Leasing.
He leaves as survivors his life-long companion Margaret Veteto of Memphis; two daughters, Lisa Jenkins of Memphis and Tammie Flores of Middleton; a son, Sparky Fields of Drummonds, TN; two sisters, Lucille Shelly of Paris, KY, and Maggie Pearl Moore of Memphis; a brother Jim Fields of Stanton, VA; 8 grandchildren, Michah, Jenna, Jeremiah, Hannah, Tracy, Jr., Kristina, Alyssa, Emily and one great-grandchild, Tracy III. He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Fields.
