Stanton Ragon White

December 17, 1915 — August 6, 2010

Stanton Ragon White, Jr., 94, of Hickory Valley, passed away Friday night, August 6, 2010 at Forest Cove Nursing Center in Jackson.



The widower of Dorothy Bishop White, who died February 24, 1995 after 59 years of marriage, he was an independent candy wholesaler for Hardeman and Fayette counties. Mr. White was born December 17, 1915 in Shelby, MS to the late Stanton R. White, Sr. and Maude Marie Chambers White and lived most of his life in Hickory Valley. He was a Hickory Valley Alderman and a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School Supervisor for 40 years.



He is survived by a daughter, Donna German and husband, Walter H. of Jackson; two grandchildren, Nicole Orr and Dianna Miller and husband, Jeffrey; two great grandchildren, Allen and Collin Miller; a nephew, Malcolm Jackson; and a great niece and great nephew.



In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene White; and a sister, Dorothy White Jackson.
