Stella Elizabeth Thompson was born February 28, 1935 in Whitney Point, New York, the daughter of the late James A. and Ida M. Sagel Birmingham. Mrs. Thompson died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Vanco Manor Nursing and Rehab in Goodlettsville, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 3 Months, 21 Days. She was a retired Lisensed Practical Nurse and was a member of Lighthouse Community Church in Madison, TN. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, embrodery, and writing poetry.
She is survived by six sons, Herbert Eugene Thompson of Murfreesboro, TN, James Floyd Thompson of Waynesboro, TN, Joseph Paul Thompson of Madison, TN, Timothy Wayne Thompson of Detroit, MI, Robert Ray Thompson of Waynesboro, TN, Thomas Gerald Thompson of Gainesville, FL, two daughters, Patricia Ann Presnell of Zellwood, FL and Cecelia Elizabeth Beauclane of Littleton, CO, 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, a brother, John William Birmingham of Dallas, TX, three sisters, Anna Margaret Martingly of Eureka, MO, Mary Cecelia Sagel of Cuba, MO, Ida Ellen Musgrove of Blairstown, MO, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Thompson, four brothers, Thomas E. Birmingham, Bernard T. Birmingham, Joseph L. Birmingham, and James Birmingham.
Services will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with family members speaking. Burial will follow in Butler Grove Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
