STEVE VAN OWENS
was born in Savannah, Tennessee on October 11, 1954 the son of the late J C and Iva Sue Love Owens.
Steve managed Hardin Farmers Co Op for years and also managed several auto parts stores. He was owner of Hunt and Fish Sporting Goods. Steve was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and was trustee board member of Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Steve loved hunting, fishing, gardening and helping on the farm during hay season. He also enjoyed feeding hummingbirds, watering cows and riding his ranger with his dog Bailey. But what Steve loved most of all was spending time with his grandchildren.
Steve departed this life on June 5, 2017 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 25 days.
He is survived by his two children, Candy Smith and her husband Alan of Savannah, Tennessee and Chris Owens and his wife Sharon of Savannah, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Ally Elizabeth Smith, Anna Faith Owens, Leah Grace Owens, Garrett Owen Smith, Sara Love Owens and Joshua Caleb "JC" Owens; one step grandson, J T Spears, son of Angie Spears; one brother, Tommy Owens and his wife Sandra of Savannah, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Steve is also survived by the mother of his children, Donna Harville Owens and former wife, Rhoda B. Hollin.
