It’s with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, Sue Morris. While surrounded by her family, Sue was called home by the Lord on Monday, July 7, 2025.
As the matriarch of the Morris family over 89 years, Sue was a daily example of living strong and loving hard. She was always ready to share a Nascar story on her front porch that was surrounded by beautiful flowers given to her by her children and grandchildren.
Sue raised 5 children to love hard, be resilient, and cherish family gatherings. To her grandchildren she was Granny, or Granny Sue or Suee, but to all she was a guiding light and a force greater than any other.
Sue was born in Decatur County, Tennessee, made her home in Saltillo, Tennessee and spent numerous years as a dedicated H.I.S employee where friendships span decades. With eight siblings, working hard was part of her personality.
Sue loved flowers, crocheting, Nascar, and listening to the Booth Brothers and Rod Stewart. Sue was quick to give a hug and tell you she loved you. Sue accepted her children’s spouses as her own and always pulled her family tighter together.
Sue is preceded in death by her father, Foy Leon Morris, her mother Lou Della Hunt Morris, her brother Leon Morris, her sister Edna Morris Bishop, her brother Clyde Eugene Morris, her sister Alma Morris Kimbel, her sister Nina Morris Gladden, her sister Mary Morris Melson, her brother Jerry Lynn Morris, her daughter Janie Brasher and, her daughter Kay Caldwell, and her grandson Harvey Lee Caldwell, Jr.
Sue is survived by her son Joe Morris of Sardis, her daughter Pam Robertson (husband Mark) of Morris Chapel, her daughter Sandi Wright (husband Matt) of Jackson, her son-in-law Charles Brasher of Reagan, her sister Martha Morris Clayton, her granddaughter Felicia Benson, her granddaughter Laura Caldwell, her grandson Joe Morris II, her grandson Ryan Morris, granddaughter Tabitha Yarbro, her granddaughter Teneya Brasher, her grandson Heath Robertson, granddaughter Maegan Qualls, granddaughter Morgan Snelling, her granddaughter Maggie Wright, and 26 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Heaven’s gain is our loss. Until we see you again, we love you and will hold you tight in our hearts.
