T. J. Alexander

T.J. Alexander departed this life on Sunday December 11, 2022, at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 1 day. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on January 10, 1939, the son of the late Tommy Gray Alexander and Ruby Joe Webb Alexander. On November 17, 1956, he was united in marriage to Madlyn Carroll Byrd, who preceded him in death on November 7, 2020.

T.J. was a truck driver for Hassell Oil Company. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge of Savannah, Tennessee, which he loved, and a Shriner. In his younger years he was a volunteer firefighter. His true love was riding his tractor and mowing his yard on Higgins Lane.

T.J. is survived by his children, Cindy Alexander-Tucker of Savannah, Tennessee, Craig Alexander of Del Rio, Texas, and Chris Alexander; grandchildren, Amy Stanley, Nicole Tucker, Justin Tucker, Trista Young, and Todd Alexander; great grandchildren, Keane Stanley, Lauren Pettit, Gavin Smith, Sailor Stanley, Ki Smith; and great-great grandchildren, Chandler June Pettit, Enoch Alexander, Taylor Young, and Jackson Young.

In addition to his parents and wife, T.J. was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Joe Alexander; brother, Herman Webb; and grandson, Justin Tucker.
