TERA JEAN DUNBAR

Tera Jean Dunbar, 30 years of age, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at her home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Tera was born June 10, 1996, in Savannah, Tennessee. She was the youngest daughter of Brad and Bonnie Dunbar of Murfreesboro, who survive her. She is also survived by sister Stacey Dunbar-Hendricks of Jefferson City, Missouri, and her children, Veletta and Kingston, as well as her fiancé Jacob Horchler of Columbia, Tennessee. She and Jacob were engaged to be married March 3rd, 2027.

Other survivors include her Grandmother, Ruth Dunbar, Uncles and Aunts, Frank and Mary Dunbar, Danny and Brenda Brashier, Bo and Jean Hancock, David and Alisha Brashier, Matt and Lisa Vandiver, . Tera was preceded in death by her maternal Grandmother, Mema, Her Uncle Don Brashier, her paternal Grandfather, Frank Dunbar and her beloved cat, Rufus Willy Nelson.

Tera accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and she was actively involved in ministry activities, beginning as a young child. She always wore a smile and loved being a part of helping others as she showed her care and concern in tangible ways. She is a member of Cross County Church in Columbia, TN.

Tera was employed as assistant property manager at Extra Space Storage in Murfreesboro.

Tera showed her heart for ministering to others as she bravely left the familiarity of the Tennessee mountains, valleys, and deltas at age 21 and fearlessly moved to Los Angeles, California, to be trained at the Dream Center Leadership School. This adventure was designed to enable her to be more effective in her own personal dream to serve people just as Jesus did. While there, she had the opportunity to gain experience as a servant leader by serving in inner-city communities through the Dream Center’s various outreach services. This knowledge helped shape her life to become the person of whom we say “to know Tera was to love her.” She will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
