Obituary

Terry M. "Tee" Kirk, a devoted family man, skilled craftsman, and faithful servant of the church, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2026, in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on April 11, 1947, in the Cypress Tank community of McNairy County, Tennessee, Terry lived a life marked by dedication—to his faith, his work, and his loved ones.

Terry graduated from Middleton High School in 1965 and furthered his education at Nashville Auto/Diesel College. His commitment to service extended beyond the civilian realm, as he served honorably in the Mississippi National Guard, achieving the rank of Sergeant E-5.

Professionally, Terry was a hard-working man who was dedicated to his craft. He devoted 25 years to Midco Machinery in Memphis, Tennessee, where his expertise and hard work earned him much respect. Following that, he dedicated another 25 years as a skilled welder with Dover Elevator in Middleton, culminating in a well-earned retirement after a remarkable 50 years in the workforce.

Terry’s integrity and character was expressed most significantly through his lifelong faith journey. Growing up within the Cypress Tank church of Christ, he later became an active member of the Pocahontas church of Christ. There, he played an integral role in the construction of a new building in 1993, demonstrating not only his skill and knowledge but his profound commitment to his church community. In recent years, he and his beloved wife, Deborah, were active members of the Antioch church of Christ. It was at Antioch where Terry became known among his church family for his heartfelt leadership of the singing. Terry’s love for the Lord and his church family was evident to all who knew him.

Outside of work and worship, Terry enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—working outdoors and in his shop, metal detecting, and fishing. Above all, his greatest joy was found in his family; he cherished his grandchildren dearly and was always willing to go to great lengths for them.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of almost 18 years, Deborah Vaughn Kirk of Selmer, Tennessee; his son, Chris Kirk and wife Marla of Beech Bluff, Tennessee; stepsons Scott Klinck and wife Keesha of Adamsville, Tennessee and Philip Klinck and wife Tina of Finger, Tennessee. He also leaves behind five treasured grandchildren: Presley Kate Kirk, Kobe Klinck, Aubrey Klinck, Alicea Klinck, and Luke Klinck. His surviving sisters, Betty Locke and Sue Arnwine, both of Pocahontas, Tennessee, also remember him with love and affection.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kennie and Goldia Nixon Kirk; his first wife, Diane King Kirk; his brother, Wayne Kirk; nephew Brad Arnwine; and brothers-in-law Eugene Locke and Bobby Arnwine.

Terry M. "Tee" Kirk lived a life marked by dedication—to his faith, his family, and his fellow man. His legacy of love, hard work, and unshakable faith will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.

Donations in memory of Terry may be made to the Antioch church of Christ or the American Heart Association.
