Thelda Gladys Smith

Thelda Gladys Cromwell Smith was born March 27, 1917, in Hardin County, Tennessee , near New Harmony Church in the Cerro Gordo community. She died December 17, 2009, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah. She was the daughter of John William Cromwell and Sarah Celestie Meadors Cromwell, who preceded her in death.On January 17, 1945, she was united in marriage to Edgar Earl (Ed) Smith, who preceded her in death on February 26, 1969.She is survived by one daughter, Linda Lou Smith McCasland; one granddaughter, Laura Paige McCasland Godwin and her husband Brent Godwin; one grandson, Kevin Smith McCasland and wife Kari McCasland; five great-grandchildren, Lindsey Paige McCasland, Grant Tanner Godwin, Noah Brent Godwin, Kolby Ann McCasland, and Kenli Grace McCasland; one sister-in-law, Willie Kay Northcutt Cromwell; nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Cromwell Horton and Flora Kathleen Cromwell Beckham; three brothers, Marcus Cromwell, Lelon Cromwell, and Robert Earl Cromwell; two half brothers, Hershall Cromwell and Luther Cromwell; two half sisters, Irene Cromwell and Cescel Cromwell.
