Thelma Christine Highland Bevis departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 15 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 11, 1932, the daughter of the late Vernie and Bertha Austin Highland. On October 10, 1953, she was united in marriage to Willard Junior Bevis, who preceded her in death on December 23, 2007.
Thelma Christine had worked for Aqua Glass, Hardin County Nursing Home, and Hardin Home Nursing Home. She loved caring for the residents of the nursing home when she worked there. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Savannah Church of Christ. Thelma Christine loved to babysit her grandkids and she enjoyed fishing, working in the garden, flowers, and yardwork, her favorite thing was to weedeat.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda White and her husband Shawn of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Aaron Bevis and his wife Suzi of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Casey White, Joshua White, and Stephen White; sisters, Lucille Highland, Beatrice Highland, and Lois Highland all of Savannah, Tennessee; and brothers, Eugene Highland of Indiana, Charles Highland, and David Highland, all of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Dawn Bevis; her sisters, Vella Mae Tilley, Flolla Qualls, and Geneva Poll; and brother, James Highland.
