Thelma C. Copeland Godwin

Thelma C. Copeland Godwin was born October 27, 1922 in Hardin County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth McCollum Greene.She was first united in marriage to Charlie Copeland on October 15, 1938. Mr. Copeland preceded her in death on October 7, 1974. On December 20, 1980, she was united in marriage to William D. Godwin who survives.Mrs. Godwin was a retired supervisor for Garan Inc. in Adamsville, Tennessee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Adamsville and the Eastern Star.Mrs. Godwin departed this life on December 2, 2009 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 1 Month, 5 Days. She is survived by her husband William D. (Dick) Godwin of Adamsville, TN; a daughter, Judy Qualls and husband Buster of Adamsville, TN; two brothers, Robert Greene of Ponoka, Alberta Canada and Gene Greene of Lavergne, TN; six grandchildren, Jeanette Plunk, Shelia Wrzesniewski, Annette Meeks, John Geralds, Mike Geralds, and Jason Geralds; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and first husband, Mrs Godwin was preceded in death by a step-son, Billy Godwin; a sister, Rheba Brown Flatt; five brothers, Carl Greene, Clarence Greene, Monty Greene, Maxie Greene and Henry Greene.
