TOMMY ‘TMC’ MCDANIEL

Medon, TN: Thomas Allan McDaniel age 69, passed away December 4, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born November 27, 1956, in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Holloway McDaniel and Mary Ann Steinkirch.

He grew up in Whitehaven in Memphis and attended Fairley High School.

He was a career firefighter having worked in Milan, Collierville, and finally Memphis Fire Department where he worked for sixteen years retiring in 2021 as Firefighter and Advanced EMT, having received several awards including an Award of Merit and one for delivering a baby in the ambulance (the baby was named after him).

He married Beth ‘B’ on August 22, 2009. They made their home in Oakland, TN and then moved to Medon five years ago.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his best buddy, Dunner, his champion labrador retriever, with whom he was inseparable.

He loved attending church at Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a member, and dearly loved Jesus and praising Him.

Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Holloway McDaniel of Medon; a stepson, Jason Dalton McCalman (Sara) of Lakeland, TN; a stepdaughter, Jennie Elizabeth McKay (Will) of Collierville, TN; 7 grandchildren, Haylee Mangum, Ross Mangum, Bryce McCalman, Hannah Mangum, Addison McCalman, Liam McKay and Sam McKay and a sister, Pam Cavannaugh (Charles) of KY.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Bibbs.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 11th at Bethel Baptist Church, Henderson, TN with Pastor Francis Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Bethel Baptist Church 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time Thursday.
