Thomas Lloyd Sanders

Mr. Thomas Lloyd Sanders, Sr. age 85 of Finger died at his home on Sunday, November 17, 2019.
Mr. Sanders was born in Paris, TN on March 4, 1934, son of the late Joseph Bennett and Nell Bevill Sanders. He attended school in Paris and later Messick High School in Memphis, were he graduated in 1952. He served in the US Army for six years during the Vietnam War as a radio operator. He married Johnnie Lurlene Rouse on July 2, 1955 and they made their home in Finger. Mrs. Sanders departed this life in 2012. Mr. Sanders worked in Food Service most of his later adult life. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Henderson and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Ledbetter (Jim) of Columbia, TN and Patricia Wood (Tom) of Florence, AL; eight grandchildren Katie Ledbetter, Sarah Latimer (Andy), Adam Wood (Anna), Eric Wood, Isaac Wood (Grace), Jared Wood, Joseph B. Sanders and Amanda Cornelius (Mark), nine great grandchildren; a brother Robert N. Sanders (Sue) of Indianapolis, IN and a special friend and caregiver Donna Riley.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas L. Sanders, Jr., two brothers Joe B. Sanders, Jr. and Gerald Sanders.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson’s East Main Chapel with Pastor Jerry McCorkle officiating. Burial will be in Old Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 18, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the East Main Chapel.
