Thomas Jerry Wood

Thomas Jerry Wood was born at home on December 21, 1936 in Henderson County, TN the son of the late Elmer Vinson and Annie Martha Ann Adams Wood.

Mr. Wood served his country during war and peace times in the United States Air Force. He retired after 20 years of honorable, faithful and dedicated service. His military career spanned from '54 to '74 which required moving every 3 years taking him to different countries and many states.

He moved back to Adamsville after his military career and opened Adamsville Tire and Battery. He was an avid outdoors man enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. He was a generous man who fed and sheltered many people in his home. He enjoyed staying connected to family and friends through his computer and social media.

Mr. Wood lived at Adamsville Healthcare for the past 6 years and made friends with many residents. He had a standing date everyday at 1:00 PM to play dominoes.

Mr. Wood departed this life on November 22, 2019 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 82 Years, 11 Months, 1 Day. He is survived by a daughter, Regina Kiddy and husband Van of Corinth, MS; three sons, Tim Wood and wife Lorrie of Adkins, TX, Sam Wood of Booneville, MS, Scott Wood and wife Linda of Baldwyn, MS; a brother, James E. Wood of Adamsville, TN; 12 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren plus one on the way; three nephews; six stepchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wood was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Gail Wood; two sons, Jerry Lynn Wood, Gregory Wood; a sister-in-law, Norma Jean Wood.
