Tippy Lee Satterfield

Tippy Lee Satterfield, 63, of Memphis, departed this life on Monday, July 3, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis.

She was born in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of J. H. Stewart and the late Margie Stewart.  Having lived most of her life in Memphis, she was a 1977 graduate of Trezvant High School and had worked as safety manager in school bus manufacturing.

A former Girl Scout troop leader, she enjoyed crocheting, genealogies and making jewelry.  She also loved her pet cats.

She leaves her husband of forty years, Ronn Satterfield of Memphis; a daughter, Tanya Starr Wood (Garrett); a son Matthew Gabriel Wood; and a grandaughter, Alexia Wood, all of Arizona; sisters, Joy Lynn Connor (Charles) of Stanton, TN, and, Susie Stewart of Memphis; brothers, Stuart J. Stewart and John Herman Stewart, both of Memphis, Dexter Burkeen (Dorothy) of Waterford, MS and Daniel Burkeen (Marcia) of Ramer; special niece and nephew, Brittney and Daniel Burkeen, II; and father, J. H. Stewart of Southaven, MS.

She was preceded in death by her adopted parents, George and Shelby Burkeen; sister,  Dianne Moon; and brother, Dell Burkeen.
