TOM ROGERSwas born in Kannapolis, North Carolina on May 14, 1949 the son of Billy Ray Rogers and the late Dorothy Mae Joynes Rogers.On September 19, 1993 he was united in marriage to Nina Jean Reynolds, who survives.Mr. Rogers was retired owner and operator of Avionics West Inc. in Santa Maria, California. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Rogers was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He was a disaster relief volunteer for Southern Baptist Convention, he did local missions work and he was active in Media Ministry at Hopewell Baptist Church. Mr. Rogers was also a HAM radio operator. He lived formerly in Kannapolis, North Carolina, Santa Maria, California and lived in Savannah, Tennessee for 5 years.Mr. Rogers departed this life on October 5, 2009 at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 21 days.Other than his wife, Nina of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by one daughter, Dawn Spry of Kannapolis, North Carolinaone son, Tommy Rogers of Concord, North Carolinaone stepdaughter, Kathi Lynne Pifer of Kingman, Arizonaone stepson, Douglas Foreman of Sutter Creek, California5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchildhis father, Billy Ray Rogers of Kannapolis, North Carolinaone brother, Steve Rogers of China Grove, North Carolina
