Ronald T. "Tommy" Bryant, a man of unwavering faith and dedication, passed away peacefully at his home in Middleton, Tennessee, on October 31, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on August 20, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, Tommy led a life defined by love, service, and an unmatched work ethic.
He devoted 33 years of his life to Bellsouth, where he became known for his reliability and dedication to his craft. But more than his achievements in the workplace, Tommy was a loyal husband, a steady father, and the proudest Granddaddy anyone could ever know. His hands were never idle, and throughout his life, he demonstrated a commitment to helping others, whether it was tending to his beloved garden, fixing what was broken, or lending a hand to anyone in need. He consistently gave more than he ever asked for in return, embodying the spirit of a true servant.
Tommy was a proud U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, who brought the same courage, discipline, and sense of duty to every aspect of his life. His faith never wavered; he cherished his Bible and lived its teachings as a testament to his beliefs. He led his family quietly yet powerfully by example, instilling in them values of perseverance, love, and community service.
He leaves behind his beloved family, including his loving wife of 58 years, Laura Pierce Bryant, whom he married on November 25, 1967 at Sam Howell's house, daughters, Lisa DeShay Pulliam and Jimmy of Toone, Kristin LeAnn Vandiver and Russell of Medina, and Ashley Nichole Collins and Chris of Mt. Juliet. His sons, Ronald T. Bryant, II and Melissa of Murfreesboro, and Jason Edward Bryant and Angela of Corinth, MS, continue the legacy of hard work and faith he nurtured. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert Milton Bryant of Williston, Barry Lynn Bryant of Hornsby, Joey Dewane Bryant of Grand Junction, Dennie Ray Bryant and Kay of Coldwater, MS, and Teddy Dale Bryant and Sally of Holly Springs, MS.
Tommy's legacy lives on through his grandchildren: George Paul Pulliam, Trae Bryant, Josh Pulliam, Bailey Bryant, Cody Bryant, Blake Bryant, Addie Vandiver, Lexi Vandiver, Bryli Collins, Brynn A. Collins, Bryant Collins, and Bryce Collins, as well as his great-grandchildren: Eason, Ensley, Rian, Ember, Heath, Logan, Coda, and Henry. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit, reflecting the love and values he imparted throughout his life.
Predeceased by his father, Ruble Thomas Bryant, and his mother, Rachel Eugenie Sykes Bryant, Tommy was a man whose life exemplified selfless love. His proudest accomplishment was living sacrificially, showing love through action and leadership through service. The memory of Ronald T. "Tommy" Bryant will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him, and his legacy will endure in the faith of his family and the many lives he quietly touched.
