TOMMY WAYNE EDWARDS
was born in Corinth, Mississippi on November 25, 1962 the son of Ruby Dean Edwards Cornelius and the late Paul Brooks.
On July 2, 1993 he was united in marriage to Shawn Renee Smith, who survives.
Tommy was a self employed carpenter. He was a son, brother, husband, father, papaw, and a friend of many. Tommy loved his family and kids more than anything. He loved all children and dogs. He was the fun dad all kids wanted to be around. But, most importantly, his first grandchild, Andie Klaire was the light of his life, she made him the happiest of all. Tommy loved living life to the fullest and was always telling jokes and had a smile on his face.
He departed this life on May 20, 2019 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 25 days.
In addition to his wife of 25 years, Shawn Edwards of Shiloh, Tennessee, he is survived by his children, Zachary Scott Edwards and his wife Jessica of Selmer, Tennessee, Justin Kyle Edwards of Shiloh, Tennessee and Kara Adison Edwards Dawson and her husband Hunter of Michie, Tennessee; one grandchild, Andie Klaire Edwards of Selmer, Tennessee; his mother, Ruby Dean Cornelius of Shiloh, Tennessee; sister, Lisa Gayle McAffee of Counce, Tennessee; sister in law, Melony Hostetler and her husband Yost of Finger, Tennessee; mother in law, Wanda Smith McCormick of Finger, Tennessee; and a special lifelong friend, Frankie Rushing of Michie, Tennessee.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Paul Brooks, father in law, Waford Smith and his grandparents, Leslie and Venia Edwards.
