Tommy Jack Franks
was born on September 29, 1940, in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Clarence William and Flora Ellen Hurley Franks.
He was united in marriage to Katie Vandiver in 1982.
Mr. Franks served his country honorably in the United States Army receiving the Purple Heart for wounds received in connection with military operations against a hostile force. He worked for the Brown Shoe Company in Savannah, Tennessee for twenty years and also for Joel Franks Sawmill as a log turner. He loved his trucks and was an avid gun collector; he was a dedicated and loving husband.
Mr. Franks departed this life on June 25, 2013, at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 26 days.
In addition to his wife, Katie of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Stanley and her husband, Howard of Adamsville, Tennessee, two sons, Tony D. Franks and his wife Mary Beth and Dennis Franks and his wife, Susan of Savannah, Tennessee, a stepdaughter, Brenda Ticer of Savannah, Tennessee and a stepson, Johnny Lambert of Lugoff, South Carolina, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Wade
Franks.
