Tommy Reid, age 78 of Middleton, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 at Bolivar General Hospital.
Mr. Reid was born Monday, February 21, 1938 in Hardeman County to the late Thomas Edward and Doreen Maxwell Reid. On Saturday, December 14, 1963, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Evilee Reid, nee Baldwin, who survives.
He served in the Tennessee National Guard for six years and was a cabinet maker for over 50 years, owning and operating Reid & Crowley Cabinets since 1969 and Reids Cabinet Shop since 1990. He lived part of his life in Memphis before moving to Hardeman County in 1969. Some of his favorite pastimes included gardening, bird watching, fixing old cars, and hunting. He especially loved his farm, sitting on his porch listening to the rain on the tin roof, being in nature, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the New Bethany Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is survived by his daughter, Ava Null and husband Kevin of Walnut, Mississippi; sons, Larry Reid and wife Deanna of Jackson, and Todd Reid of Middleton; sisters, Beverly Bodiford, Lou Antwine and Faye Massengill, all of Middleton; brother, Wade Reid of Middleton; and grandchildren, Caleb Null and wife Brooke, Ashley Reid, Morgan Reid and Scott Null.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Daniel Reid, who passed away in 1970; mother-in-law, Maxine Baldwin; father-in-law, Nud Baldwin; and special dog, Jabo, who died in 2014.
