Tommy Riggs

Tommy Riggs, 77, of Middleton, passed away Monday morning, June 5, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

The husband of Annie Ruth Doyle Riggs, who survives, he retired in 2001, after becoming disabled, from Riggs Siding.  He was born Tuesday, July 24, 1945, in Forrest City, Arkansas, son of the late Audrey Carlisle Riggs and Myra Frances Wilkins Riggs and lived in the Memphis area prior to moving to Hardeman County 40 years ago.  He married Annie Ruth Doyle on June 30, 1978, in Memphis and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, but especially loved being around his family.  He was a member of New Bethany Church of Christ.  No services will be held.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Riggs of Middleton; a son, Glen Barkley (Lori) of Oxford, MS; a sister, Freda Noyles (Bob) of Washington State; his granddaughters, Brittany Hicks (Drew), Hannah Greene (Hunter) and Katie Jo Kitchens (Ricky); and his great grandchildren, Ella Jane and Avery Hicks; Meredith, Samuel and Elizabeth Greene and Baylea Ja Kitchens.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandchild, William Lane Kitchens in 2020; and 7-8 brothers and sisters.  Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to Pine Vale Children's Home, 1872 Co Rd 700, Corinth, MS 38834 (www.pinevalechildrenshome.com/donate-to-pine-vale/)
