Tommy (Bird) Vanhoose
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on March 16, 1954 the son of the late Tom and Edna Earl Falls Vanhoose.
On February 19, 1973 he was united in marriage to his High School sweetheart, Beth Hulen, who survives.
Tommy retired due to illness from Crounce Corporation. He was a Towboat Captain and had been with the company for 37 years. He loved sports, watching it on TV or going to see his grandchildren play. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loved Tennessee Football and Basketball among other teams. He enjoyed going to the local restaurants and joining around the coffee drinking table, Tommy had lots of friends and loved ones. He also enjoyed his pets. He was a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church and the United Steel Workers Union.
Tommy departed this life on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the age of 56 years, 11 months, 21 days.
In addition to his wife Beth of 38 years, he is survived by 2 sons, Greg Vanhoose and wife Amanda of Nashville, Tennessee, Wade Vanhoose and special friend Brandi of Henderson, Tennessee; Wendy Vanhoose and special friend James Sparks of Savannah, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, Lexi Turner, Sadi Turner, Brannon Vanhoose, Wade Vanhoose, Jr. and Will Blount; 2 sisters, Nettie Jane Logan and Kathy Baugus both of Savannah, Tennessee; a brother, J.W. Vanhoose of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Ruth Vanhoose and a brother, William Glen Vanhoose.
