Mr. Armstrong passed from this life Wednesday morning, January 15, 2014 at Methodist Healthcare Hospice Residence in Germantown.
A native of Memphis, he was the son of the late Carolyn Armstrong and Charles Armstrong of Silerton, TN, who survives. He was a 1985 graduate of Bolivar Central High School and spent his adult life in Memphis. He was the owner of Armstrong Transportation and had worked in the trucking industry for the past 16 years. A member of the Germantown Baptist Church, he was also a Mason, active in the Arlington Lodge #641. A strong supporter of the Memphis business community, Mr. Armstrong was a member of the Entrepreneur Rountable, Memphis Food Bank, Toys for Tots and Make-A-Wish. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.
In addition to his father, he leaves his wife, Mary Armstrong of Germantown; his daughter, Robyn (Ben) Peeples of Greenbrier, TN; his sons, Alex (Crystal) Armstrong of Greenbrier, Colby (Courtney) Armstrong of Clovis, NM, Keegan Ward, Aaron, Nicholas and Parker Armstrong, all of Germantown; his sister, Traci (Robert) Mayfield of Silerton; his brother, Tommy Armstrong (Gladine) of Pocahontas; two grandchildren and one grandchild "on the way."
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a niece, Leah Mayfield; and two cousins, Sonny Sayre and Milton Armstrong.
