Mr. Hopkins passed away Monday afternoon, August 23, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Ripley, MS, the son of the late Dewey and Lois James Hopkins. Most of his life was lived in the Hornsby area. Mr. Hopkins was maintenance technician for Berry Plastics in Jackson for 31 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Wayne and Freddy Dale Hopkins.
Survivors include his wife, Jamie "Sue" Hopkins of Hornsby; two daughters, Felicia Hopkins (Kevin) of Jackson and Lauren Hopkins (Matt) of Knoxville; step-son, Chris Derrick (Mandy) of Falkner, MS; sister, Vicki Renfro of Hornsby; four grandchildren, Tabitha and Tony Lambert, Cayson and Clayton Derrick; a great-grandchild, Ashton Garrison; and two nieces, Shelby Watson (Chris) and "Munchie" Renfro (Craig King).
Mr. Hopkins enjoyed attending Falkner Baptist Church in Falkner, MS. He loved to drive and ride in his truck and his brand new Jeep, spending time outdoors in the sunshine, music, being with his girls, Tennessee Titans football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
