Troy Emmons was born July 11, 1917 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Will and Daisy Cooksey Emmons.
He was first united in marriage to Pauline Blackshire. To this union two daughters were born. Pauline preceded Troy in death on August 17, 1975. On January 20, 1977, he was united in marriage to Annie Ruth Robertson, who survives.
Mr. Emmons was gravel washer and hauler for many years at Worsham Brothers. He retired from Central Electric in Corinth, where he worked as a security guard, and was also a farmer. He loved gardening and working outside, and he especially enjoyed sharing the fruits and vegetables he raised with others.
Mr. Emmons departed this life on September 4, 2010 in Booneville, Mississippi at the age of 93 Years, 1 Month, 24 Days. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Annie Ruth (Robertson) Emmons of Burnsville, MS; two daughters, Patricia Hodum and husband Billy Ray of Corinth, MS and Sherry Malone and husband Butch of Knoxville, TN; a step-daughter, Dianne Lambert-Chester and husband Stephen of Eads, TN; two grandchildren, John Eric Jeffries and Thomas Goan; a great-grandchild, Eric Jeffries; two sisters, Zelma McCoy of Nashville, TN and Marie Smith of Michie, TN; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his first wife and parents, Mr. Emmons was preceded in death by three brothers, Aber Emmons, Marshall Emmons, and Major Emmons.
