Van Patterson McDonald

Mr. McDonald passed away Tuesday morning at his home.



The widower of Thelma Mae Howell McDonald, who died on April 20, 2006 after 49 years of marriage, he was retired from Woodcrafter's in Ripley, Miss and had worked 20+ years with the Bolivar Tannery. He was born to James Herbert McDonald and Eula Ilene Newland McDonald and lived all of his life here. He served in the US Army from 1953-55 as a corporal and was a member and deacon of Brint's Chapel Baptist Church.



Survivors include three daughters, Diane Chandler of Middleton, Charlotte Watkins of Hickory Valley and Debra Howell of Middleton; a brother, David McDonald of Middleton; five grandchildren, Adam Howell, Katie Eppers, Jared, Jacob and Caleb Watkins; and four great grandchildren, Alix Joy Eppers, Jaden Eppers, Allyson and Kayleigh Watkins. In addition to his wife, whom he married on March 23, 1957, and his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Horace McDonald; two infant brothers, Troy and Oral Reese McDonald; a daughter, Joyce Ann McDonald and a son in law, Terry Chandler.
