Mrs. Kirk passed away Friday afternoon at her home in Pocahontas.
The wife of William Frank Kirk, who survives, she was a homemaker and had worked years ago for Baptist Hospital and during World War II worked at National Biscuit Company. She was born to Irbin Charlie Hollis and Roxie Wilbanks Hollis, both of whom preceded her in death. She loved gardening and canning the produce of her garden for her friends and family. She was a member of Middleton United Pentecostal Church where she enjoyed participating in the church activities and singing in the choir.
In addition to her husband, whom she married on June 19, 1946, survivors include a daughter, Shirley Kirk Pickle and her husband, Tom of Little Rock, Ark.; two sons, William Eugene Kirk of West Chester, Ohio and David Frank Kirk and his wife, Mona of Slayden, Miss.; four grandchildren, Major Tom Pickle, Jr. and Betsy of Little Rock, Ark., Chris Kirk and Beth of Irving, Texas, Kellie Kirk Neier and Jason of Memphis, and Kellie’s mother, Karen Kirk of Cordova and Lindsey Kirk Martindale and Justin of Atlanta, Ga.; and three great grandchildren, Ethan and Sean Kirk and Jeffrey Neier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stillborn son, William Donald Kirk and four brothers, J. C., Leon, Hughie and Leroy Hollis.
