Venida Kaye Johnson Stricklin of Clifton, TN was born April 29, 1955 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of the late Ora Hobart (O. H.) and Iva Corrina Toombs Johnson. Ms Stricklin was a former factory worker.
She departed this life on Friday, September 14, 2012 at her home at the age of 57 Years, 4 Months, 16 Days.
She is survived by sons, Christopher Lee (Chris) Garrard and wife, Gena of Waynesboro, TN, Daniel Michael Garrard and wife, Jennifer of Clifton, TN; grandchildren, Casey Garrard, Rose Garrard, Rachel Garrard, Ginger Garrard, Zack Turnbo; a brother, Ron Friend of Waterloo, AL; sisters, Barbara Burke of Rochelle, IL, Darlene McCasland of Savannah, TN; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ms Stricklin was preceded in death by Grandparents, Elvis Toombs and Anna Toombs and Gilly and Fern Tullis; brother, Donnie Friend; brother-in-law, Bill McCasland; sisters, Carolyn McDuffee, Ann Engelkes; nephews, Donald Wade Engelkes and Ronald McDuffee.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Ken Russell, A. J. Garrard, James Garrard, Jon Plunk, Terry Baker, Jerome Gallaher. Honorary pallbearers will be Zackary Turnbo and Corey Friend.
