Vera Mae Battles

Vera Mae Battles of Selmer departed this life on March 26, 2013 in Selmer at the age of 85 Years, 10 Months, 27 Days. She was born April 27, 1927 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Arby and Lula Gray Harvelle. She was united in marriage to James Battles. Mr. Battles preceded her in death on April 5, 1990. She was full gospel in belief and was a homemaker.Mrs. Battles is survived by a daughter, Kerry Sue McKinney of Selmer, TN; a son, Jimmy Leon Battles of Selmer, TN; a sister, Tommie Jo Sanders of Selmer, TN; a brother, James Harvelle of Selmer, TN; 16 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, 28 Great Great Grandchildren. A host of extended family and friends.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Battles was preceded in death by two daughters, Patsy Battles Luna, Sandra Battles Smith.
