Vernal "Buck" Petty

Vernal (Buck) Petty, 90, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, April 5 at Savannah Healthcare.

He was born in Wayne County on April 1, 1926, the son of the late Tom Petty and Rosa Ella Keele Petty.

On May 22, 1949, he was united in marriage to Barbara Faye Robertson, who survives.

Buck retired at the age of 84 from his Auto Body Shop. He attended First Assembly of God Church for 56 years. He was a loving husband, Daddy, and Granddaddy. He loved children and would always make you laugh. If you ever met him, you'd never forget him.

He is survived by one son, Danny Petty (Kathy), two daughters, Deborah Pickens (Ray), Wanda Erwin (David), a son-in-law, David Bonee, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, five sisters, and five brothers, and two special ladies whom he helped raise, Janice Briley and Julia Robertson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Ellen Bonee, one great-grandson, seven sisters, and five brothers.
