Vernon Ford departed this life on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the age of 80 years, 2 months, 20 days.He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 13, 1932, the son of the late John L. and Martha Connie Stricklin Ford. On February 22, 1953, he was united in marriage to Nollie Ray Ward, who survives. Vernon was a member of the Second Creek Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and loved his dogs. Vernon is survived by his wife, Nollie Ford of Savannah, Tennessee; son, James Ford and wife Cathy of Florence, Alabama; daughter, Barbara Gean and husband Wayne of Waterloo, Alabama; grandchildren, Wendy Whitten and husband Barry, Kyle Gean and wife Ashley, Kirby Gean, Brooke Ford, and Ashley Ford; great grandchildren, Lillie Whitten, Harlee Whitten, and Kaleb Whitten; brothers, Henery Ford of New Carlisle, Indiana, Hubert Ford of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Romie Hall of Lutts, Tennessee, Naomi Pfeffer of Toano, Virginia and Sue Dodd of Savannah, Tennessee.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, William, John, Carl, and J.P. Ford; sisters, Lizzie Qualls, Lillie Henson, Mary Scott, Fannie Tabscott, and Murtle Ford.
