Vernon Paulk Martin

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home, in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Steve Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery at Westpoint, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements.



Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 16 from 5:00-8:00 pm and on Wednesday, December 17 from 9:00 am until service time at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Collinwood,TN



Mr. Martin departed this life on Monday, December 15, 2008 in Westpoint, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 3 Months, 4 Days. He was born September 11, 1929 in Cloverdale, Alabama the son of the late George Paulk and Carrie May Lindsey Martin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by sister; Tom May Martin.



Mr. Martin was a retired laborer with Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company. He was of the Baptist faith.



He is survived by ; his wife Mrs. Dollie Marie (Dixon) Martin of Westpoint, TN;



sons, Steve Michael Martin and wife Pam of Westpoint, TN, Sherman Vernon Martin and wife Myra of Collinwood, TN, Phillip Wayne Martin of Collinwood, TN, Mike Jeffrey Martin and his wife Kay of Westpoint, TN, James David Martin and wife Lynn of Iron City, TN;



daughters, Cherry Marie (Martin) Boswell and husband Randy of Westpoint, TN, Virginia Lois (Martin) Cockrell and husband Chris of Mantachie, MS;



5 grandsons and 13 granddaughters



brothers, Leonard Randolph Martin and wife Nell of Iron City, TN, William Hassell Martin and wife Reba of Iron City, TN;
