Marion Videll Pope Price, a life long resident of Wayne County, was born May 4, 1931 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late Guy A. and Essie Opal Pulley Pope. Mrs. Price departed this life Saturday, October 24, 2015 at her home near Waynesboro at the age of 84 Years, 5 Months, and 20 Days. She owned and managed Ray's Blossom Shop in Waynesboro for several years and formerly she was head of housekeeping at Wayne Medical Center, and also had worked at the court house. Videll also served in the community by serving over 40 years on Wayne County Beer Board and also served over 50 years in the Order of Eastern Star. Videll also was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was married to Elbert Price November 15, 1951. He preceded her in death January 18, 2006. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her son Elbert Price, Jr., and a brother Raymond Pope.
She is survived by a son, Dennis Price and wife Candy, a daughter, Conda Price Griffin and husband Danny all of Waynesboro, TN, a brother, Earl Pope and wife Pat of Linden, TN, three grandchildren, Melissa Lowe, Alvin Griffin, and Tom Scott, ten great grandchildren, Brittany McNeese, Alex Lowe, Cameron Lowe, Jake Lowe, Annaka Brewer, Kalvin Griffin, Savannah Hamrick, Christian Hamrick, Kaylee Scott, and Autumn Scott.
Services will be Monday, October 26, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Kevin Marston officiating. Burial will follow in the North Highland Cemetery near Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County, directing. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-9:00 PM Sunday and Monday from 8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
