Virginia Kiser Barnes

Virginia Kiser Barnes was born November 18, 1923 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late E. P. and Ocie Sweat Kiser.She was united in marriage to Joe Barnes on April 28, 1945.Mrs. Barnes was formerly employed with Kenwin\'s Dress Shop and Sherman\'s Five and Ten in Selmer. She also served as a private sitter, but her first priority was making a loving home for her family. Mrs. Barnes enjoyed playing Dominos, Rook, and Washers with her family and friends. When she was younger, Mrs. Barnes also enjoyed gardening, quilting, and cooking. She was a member of Falcon Baptist Church. Mrs. Barnes departed this life on September 21, 2012 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 10 Months, 3 Days. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joe Barnes of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Sandy Whitaker and husband Scotty of Selmer, TN; five sisters: Wilma Kiddy Dunaway of Selmer, TN, Mable McClain of Selmer, TN, Ann Pearson of Corinth, MS, Kaye Tacker and husband David of Selmer, TN, and Shirley Moore of Selmer, TN; a brother, Larry Wayne Kiser and wife Kathleen of Selmer, TN; and many extended family and friends.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy King and Nellie Wolfe; and two brothers, John Robert Kiser and Roy Kiser.
