Virginia Morris Vales Hatch, a loving homemaker and dedicated seamstress, passed away peacefully at her home in Pinson, Tennessee, on November 21, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on March 18, 1935, in Bolivar, Tennessee, she lived a life filled with warmth, creativity, and a deep faith as a Christian.
Throughout her life, Virginia was known for her exceptional talent in sewing. She lovingly made clothing for her family and shared her skills with others, even selling some of her creations to the public. Her hands stitched not only fabric but also affection into the lives of those she cherished, leaving a legacy woven together with love and dedication. For many years, she lovingly created and donated crocheted hats for children undergoing cancer treatments to wear.
Virginia is survived by her beloved daughter, Linda L. Dodd of Silerton; her son, Timothy Vales of Henderson; and her step-daughters, Wanda Pitzen and Vicki Hinthorne of Peoria, Illinois. Her siblings, Leon Morris of Tampa, Florida, and Arthur LeRoy Morris of Sutherin, Oregon, also carry forward her memory. She was the proud grandmother and great-grandmother to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will always remember her nurturing spirit. Virginia's loyal dog, Daisy Faith, was her constant companion, sharing in the joys and comfort of her daily life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy O. Hatch; her son, Michael Vales; and her parents, James Perry Morris and Cynthia Lorene Whitten Morris. Virginia also mourned the loss of three brothers and two sisters, creating a profound bond of love and remembrance that transcends life itself.
Virginia's legacy will forever be cherished by family and friends alike. She left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her, through her kindness, generosity, and the many fabrics of her life that intertwined with theirs.
The visitation will be held on November 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, located at 109 Mecklinburg Drive, Bolivar, TN. She will be laid to rest in Little Hatchie Cemetery in Bethel Springs, Tennessee.
