Virginia Loree Gillham Kernodle

Virginia Loree Gillham Kernodle was born December 23, 1928 in McNairy County, TN, the daughter of the late Winfred and Connie Willis Gillham. She was born and raised around Mt. Vinson in the Gilchrist community. She was united in marriage to John David Kernodle on September 3, 1955. Mr. Kernodle preceded her in death on August 26, 1983. Mrs. Kernodle was a member of the Mt. Vinson United Methodist Church in Stantonville, TN. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening, flowers, sewing, quilting, gospel music, watching basketball, Wheel of Fortune and Elvis Presley!

Mrs. Kernodle departed this life on January 6, 2018 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 14 Days.

She is survived by two daughters, Annette Kernodle Rickman and husband Robert D. of Michie, TN, Joyce Kernodle Monroe and husband Lawrence of Selmer, TN; two grandchildren, Jessica Monroe German and husband Matt, and Kerry Monroe; a sister, Vada Waller of Savannah, TN; two sister-in-laws, Alice Kernodle Chandler of Memphis, TN and Martha Nell Kernodle Crowe of Selmer, TN; special and dear friends, Betty Michael Mays of Virginia Beach, VA and Pauline Michael of Jackson, TN; and a host of neices and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Kernodle was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Carroll; and two brothers, Arlon Gillham and Donald Ray Gillham.
