Viva Nell Bryan Garrett

Viva Nell Rich Bryan Garrett was born December 25, 1934 in Cypress Inn, TN the daughter of the late Louis Franklin and Vergie Bell Pigg Rich. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by husbands Raymond Bryan, Glenn Rowe, and Pearl Garrett; daughter, Carrie N. Oaks; brothers, Carmel, Erbie, James, Robert, and Fred Rich; four sisters, Gertie Arnett, Elsie Brown, Edith Hollander, and Beulah Bourland. She died Friday, April 13, 2012 in Traverse City, Michigan. A retired hairdresser and homemaker, Mrs. Garrett was a former resident of Pennington Gap, VA and a member of Good Shepard Church.



She is survived by a son, Carmel Ray Bryan of Garden City, MI;

a daughter, Celia Bryan McKolay of Traverse City, MI;

grandchildren, Kyle Bryan, Ashley Bryan Ballard, Raymond McKolay, Leigh McKolay, Evan McKolay, Shaun McKolay and wife Sarah, Kristin McKolay, Mitchell McKolay, Madison Goins, Jeffery Oaks, and Kimberly Oaks; great grandchildren, Ewan Martin, William McKolay, Tess McKolay, Charlotte Ballard, and Amelia Ballard; a brother, Russell Rich of Collinwood, TN; a sister, Reba Holt of Collinwood, TN.



Services will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Collinwood with Tim Hanback officiating. Burial will follow in McGlamery Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.



Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-9:00 pm and Thursday from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
