W. L. Dowty

W. L. Dowty was born October 2, 1947 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late William (Bill) Ephriam Dowty and Mary Daphine Kernodle Dowty Gilbert.He was united in marriage to Glenda Wolfe on September 4, 2004.Mr. Dowty was a maintenance supervisor for 7 years at the Selmer Community Center. He was formerly employed as a service technician for Patrick Mobile Homes in Corinth, Mississippi, where he worked for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee. Mr. Dowty departed this life on October 18, 2009 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 62 Years, 16 Days. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Wolfe Dowty of Selmer, TN; a son, Arden Dowty and wife Becky of Selmer, TN; four step-sons: Jamie Wolfe and wife Vanessa of Nashville, TN, Scotty Wolfe and wife Carolyn of Medina, TN, Micky Wolfe and wife Stacy of Huntsville, AL, and Timmy Wolfe and wife Samantha of Nashville, TN; a sister, Nancy Etheridge and husband James of Selmer, TN; two grandchildren: Jacob Dowty and Tyler Dowty; ten step-grandchildren: Krystina Ray, Stephen Harmon, Brett Wolfe, Dustin Gregory, Blake Wolfe, Bailey Wolfe, Peyton Wolfe, Gentry Wolfe, Ella Wolfe, and Nolen Wolfe; a step-great-grandchild, Addyson Ray; and a host of extended family and friends.
