W. Ruth Lancaster Reaves

W. Ruth Lancaster Reaves, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on November 24, 2023 at the age of 87. She was born on January 9, 1936 in Wayne County, TN to the late Eddie Roy and Lola Ethel Stooksberry Lancaster.

Ruth's life was filled with love, warmth, and dedication to her family. On May 24, 1953, she married Luther Wayne Reaves and together they embraced the journey of life until his passing on October 20, 2023.

Professionally, Ruth dedicated many years of her life to General Motors as a sewing machine operator. She took great pride in her work and was a valued member of the U.A.W. Union.

However, Ruth's true fulfillment came from her faith and community. She was a faithful member of Scotts Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where she found solace and strength in her spirituality.

In her leisure time, Ruth found joy in creative pursuits such as quilting and crocheting. With every stitch woven and every pattern crafted, she poured her love into each masterpiece she created.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
