Wacile Johnson

WACILE (DANDY) JOHNSON



was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on March 6, 1919 the daughter of the late Custer and Maggie Peerey Perkins.



On October 1, 1937 she was united in marriage to Charles R. Johnson, who preceded his wife in death on March 12, 1981.



Mrs. Johnson was a clerk for Classy Corner Children's Wear. She also had been a Pharmacist Assistant for Med Stat, Rexall and Fred's. Mrs. Johnson was the original owner of Ideal Flower Shoppe and was owner of Joyland Kindergarten. She also did catering for weddings. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed doing flower gardening, her yard was a show place of flowers. She also enjoyed playing piano and sharing with everyone who would listen, if you could hum a song she could play it. Mrs. Johnson was a life long member of Savannah First United Methodist Church, where she was the oldest member of the Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Weslyn Guild and the Weslyn Sunday School Class.



Mrs. Johnson departed this life on April 1, 2012 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 93 years and 26 days.



She is survived by 2 daughters, Rebecca Wilkes and her husband Jimmy of Savannah, Tennessee and Anne Clair Johnson of Savannah, Tennessee



2 grandchildren, Jeff Wilkes and his wife Michelle and Kevin Wilkes and his wife Donna



4 great grandchildren, Bethany, Jennah, Kennedy and Wheeler Wilkes



Mrs. Johnson is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews



In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Thelma Hamm and Peerey Perkins
