Wallace Edward Rickman was born November 6, 1946 near Michie, Tennessee to the late J.D. and Beulah (Hindmon) Rickman.
He was a Baptist and formerly served as a deacon.
In his youth, Mr. Rickman was an enthusiastic and gifted athlete. He especially enjoyed playing baseball as a pitcher. Mr. Rickman was also a capable outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a particularly skilled and dedicated deer hunter. Early autumn would find him in the woods scouting for signs of deer. He enjoyed watching westerns and college football.
Mr. Rickman worked at ITT in Corinth, Mississippi for nearly 30 years, and eventually became director of manufacturing. During his time there, the company sought and held patents on items designed by him for cost saving measures. After leaving ITT, Mr. Rickman co-founded Telecommunications Technology, Inc. (Teltec) in Ramer, Tennessee before moving it, briefly, to Corinth, Mississippi. Mr. Rickman was a quick study. He had a natural aptitude for many things including carpentry, and almost anything mechanical or electrical. In his retirement, he enjoyed buying, fixing, and selling cars.
Despite his many interests and pursuits, Mr. Rickman ultimately gained the greatest pleasure in life from his family. This was most readily visible in the amount of love and pride that he showed for his grandson.
Mr. Rickman departed this life April 25, 2025, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Mississippi due to heart failure following a protracted battle with end stage kidney disease. He was 78 years, 5 months, and 19 days.
Mr. Rickman is survived by a son, Wallace Rickman II (Mica); his daughters, Karen Rickman (Phillip Bonds) and Paula Scott (Rod); his grandchildren, Wallace Rickman III, Meghan Whitley, and Ella James Scott; a great-granddaughter, Penelope Rinehart; a sister, Sue Bevis (Ray); a brother, John Rickman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rickman was preceded in death by a sister, Hester McClain (Junior); and a beloved pet, Bobbin.
