Walter Clarence Williams

January 21, 1943 — January 24, 2011

Mr. Williams passed away Monday morning, January 24, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.



He was a member of the Bolivar First Baptist Church and had worked as a Power Construction Lineman, serving as both General Foreman and Superintendent in several states across the US and Canada. He graduated from Bolivar Central High School where he participated in the Future Farmers of America, the marching band and played football. He had a short career as a semi-professional football player in the mid 1960’s. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Tennessee Sons of the American Revolution and the National Rifle Association. He also served on the Board of Directors of Farmers and Merchants Bank. Mr. Williams was a private pilot in both airplanes and helicopters. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a great love of horses and his wolves. He had lived in Hardeman County since 1952.



He leaves his son, Donald M. Williams, and his wife, Wendy H. Williams, of Murfreesboro; his sister, Eulalia W. Jones and her husband, Levon Jones of McMinnville, TN; his brother, Joseph Robert Williams and his wife Melinda Williams of Ada, OK; and grandchildren, Isabella and Branden both of Murfreesboro.



He also leaves behind five nephews and two nieces, Daryl Jones, Kevin Jones, Chris Jones, Joseph Williams, Thomas Williams, Michelle Williams and Karen Williams.
