Wanda Gallaher

Wanda Johnson Gallaher was born November 5, 1943 in Henderson, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John Henry Johnson and Alline Deaton Johnson Rodgers. Mrs. Gallaher died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 67 Years, 6 Months, 13 Days.



As a young woman, she was employed at the Henderson Medical Clinic in Henderson, TN where she met her husband Raymond Noel Gallaher. They were married December 26, 1963. After leaving Henderson, she was employed at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA and Griffin, GA, the Univeristy of Florida, Santa Fe Community College, and Univerisity City church of Christ all in Gainesville, Florida where they made their home for many years. After retirement, they were in the process of relocating to Waynesboro, TN. She was a member of the church of Christ.



She is survived by her husband, Dr. Raymond Noel Gallaher, Professor Emeritus, University of Florida, of Suwannee, FL; a son, Dr. Kent Gallaher and wife, Marsha Elaine of Nashville, TN; daughter, Sara Beth McGuire and husband, Jesse Phillip of Hixon, TN; four grandchildren, Alfred Andrew Gallaher, John Austin Gallaher, Phillip Holt McGuire, Margaret Ellouise (Maggie) McGuire; sisters, Sylvia Johnson Hopper and husband, Gordon Edward of Atlanta, GA, Endrice Sharleen Avery of Huntingdon, TN; mother-in-law, Margaret Gallaher of Waynesboro, TN.



Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Waynesboro Church of Christ in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with David Sain, Mitchell Skelton, and Bobby Pinckley officiating. At her request, her body will be cremated and burial of her cremains will be in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, Tennessee.
