Wanda Jean Thrasher Vallejo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wanda Jean Thrasher Vallejo, age 76, who departed from this world on December 23, 2025. She was born in Collinwood, TN, on September 20, 1949, she was the beloved daughter of the late Elias and Viola Berry Thrasher. For many years, Wanda dedicated herself to her work, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion towards everyone one she met.

Wanda's spirit was as vibrant as her passions. She found joy in simple pleasures—taking long walks, collecting cherished Coca-Cola memorabilia, she loved her shows Days or our Lives, True Crime and engaging in lively board games surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her laughter and warmth will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

As we remember Wanda, let us celebrate the beautiful memories she leaves behind—a loving family, treasured friendships, and a legacy of kindness and joy. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to share in her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Risner of Muscle Shoals, AL and sons, Steven Ray Risner of Muscle Shoals, AL. Richard Jason Vallejo of Cabot, AR, David Jonathan Vallejo of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Richard Justin Vallejo of Tuscumbia, AL; grandchildren, Laila, Jonah, Jack, Raven and her husband Tyler, Elle, Heather, Jace, Bentlee, and Carly; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Carter, Zander, Jordan, and Paris; nephew, Kenny Reaves; niece, Shirley Prescott; great nephew, Brad Haddock; and great nieces, Sydney Reaves, and Ava Reaves and her son Justin’s significant other Victoria Hodges.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her siblings, Roy, Glen, Iva Dean, Jackie, Christine, Betty Sue, and Leon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Greg Lorble officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN.
