Wanda Pearl Blanton Wilkins was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 4, 1951, the daughter of the late Cleatous and Pearl Plexica Blanton. On July 14, 1969, she was united in marriage to Joe Raymond Wilkins, who survives. Wanda departed this life on April 5, 2018, at the age of 66 years, 4 months, and 1 day.
Mrs. Wilkins worked as a Home Health Care Nurse for Comfort Keepers in Jackson, Tennessee, and she attended First Assembly of God in Savannah, Tennessee. In her lifetime, she lived in Madison County, Tennessee for 30 years and Hardin County, Tennessee for 20 years. Mrs. Wilkins enjoyed painting, working with roses in her flower garden, reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching movies on TV, and traveling.
In addition to her husband of 48 years, Mrs. Wilkins is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Moore and husband James of Cullman, Alabama; son, John Wilkins and wife Stephanie of Dickson, Tennessee; brothers, Thomas Blanton and Billy Blanton, both of Crump, Tennessee and Carter Blanton of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Linda Blanton Ridgell of Crump, Tennessee; grandchildren, Austin Moore, Audrey McMickens, Desmarie Moore, Vivian McMickens, Elisha Wilkins, and Sophia McMickens.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Wilkins was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Emery Wilkins, Charles Wilkins, and Joe Wilkins.
