Henderson, TN: Edwin Dewayne Cooper age 84 passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Chester County, the son of the late Edwin and Ruby Kirby Cooper. He attended school in Chester County and graduated Chester County High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on board the USS Libra. He married Mary Cooper on May 30, 1951. They made their home near Montezuma where they raised cattle, hogs and row crops. He was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Cooper is survived by three children including, Sharon Cooper (Jimmy Thomas) and Mike Cooper all of Henderson; seven grandchildren including, Amanda Hearn (Matt), Clay Cooper (Emily), Brandon Cooper (Jaclyn) and Kelly Cooper and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Cooper, August 20, 2014, one son, Larry Cooper and three brothers, Joe, Carnice and Troy Cooper.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Bro. Glenn Harris and Clay Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Montezuma Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
