Weldon Thomas Hysmith was born May 26, 1943, in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of Avonelle Gaddy Hysmith and the late Ira Thomas Hysmith.
After graduating from Adamsville High School in 1961, Weldon worked with the Western Auto Company in Memphis and Nashville before becoming a partner in their McMinnville, Tennessee store. He later opened The Honda Shop in McMinnville and opened another Western Auto store in Smithville, Tennessee. From there, Weldon moved back to McNairy County to work with Henco Corporation in Selmer then transferring to Las Vegas, Nevada to become Operations Manager for the Henco Distribution Center. After more than 10 years in Las Vegas, he again returned to McNairy County and was employed as a truck driver with Aqua Glass Corporation in Adamsville.
Weldon attended Solitude Freewill Baptist Church. He departed this life on October 10, 2011. Survivors are his three daughters, Dena Caryl Hysmith of Knoxville, Tennessee; Donna Jenee Hysmith of Nashville, Tennessee; Darla Michelle Hysmith of Jacksonville, Florida; his mother, Avonelle Gaddy Hysmith and his sister Kathy Hysmith, both of the Leapwood Community near Adamsville, Tennessee; Two grandchildren, Madison Alyse Dyer and John Robert Dyer, both of Knoxville, Tennessee. Also survived by a family friend, Christy Franks of Savannah, Tennessee and a host of other extended family and friends.
