W.H. Simmons

W H Simmons was born October 22, 1941 in Savannah, TN the son of the late Hughie Lee and Frances Elizabeth Sizemore Simmons.

He was united in marriage to Carolyn Ann Rainey, who survives, on June 19, 1965.
He was a self-employed logger for Simmons' Logging, and had also owned and operated Simmons' Motor Co.

W H was a member of the American Belgian Draft Horse Association and was of the Baptist Belief. He enjoyed gardening and horseback riding, and especially loved competing in horse shows showing his Belgians and Mules. He was an avid competitor as well as a breeder of Belgian Draft horses and Mules.

His family was the most important part of his life, and he loved his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Simmons departed this life on July 13, 2014 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 8 Months, 21 Days.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Ann (Rainey) Simmons of Savannah, TN; three daughters, Kim Williams and Larry of Savannah, TN, Kristi Williams of Savannah, TN, Stacy DeBerry and Lane of Savannah, TN; a sister, Dorothy Kyle of Savannah, TN; a brother, Jamie Simmons of Clifton, TN; eight grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Jenny Lind Iturbe, Lane DeBerry Jr., Trae Dickson, Jesse Sweat, Morgan DeBerry, Cherry Beth Williams, Hayden DeBerry; and 7 great grandchildren.
