June Overton Armstrong

March 23, 1943 — September 10, 2024

Savannah

June Armstrong, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on March 23, 1943, in Savannah, Tennessee, June was the daughter of the late Louvenia Love White.

June was a talented interior decorator at Haverty’s Furniture, a career that allowed her to express her innate sense of style and beauty. She took great joy in her passions: gardening, shopping, traveling, and caring for her beloved grandchildren, grand pups, and animals. She also found joy in watching and feeding the deer and foxes that frequented her yard, even caring for a pet fox that stole her heart.

A woman of extraordinary courage and resilience, June fought a brave battle against cancer with the same determination and grace that defined her life. She was known for her sharp sense of fashion, her unwavering support for her family, and her generous spirit. June was the rock of her family, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her daughter, Lecia Carole Overton; and siblings, Morris White, Mary Ann Woody, Sonny White, and Glenda Stanfield.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 36 years, Larry May of Warner Robins; children, Wileda Kaye Hammack of Lebanon, Tennessee, Venicea “Sissy” Overton of Warner Robins, Georgia; Kiriar “NaDarai” Kimball of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Landrel Warren of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Alecia Johnson (Brandon) of Nashville, Tennessee, Tres Kimball of Warner Robins, D.J. Hammack (Ashley) of Tennessee, and Kiriar Kimball-McInnis (Nico) of Acworth, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Camden Johnson, Brooklyn Hammack, Deklen Johnson, Flyntlee Hammack, Aaron McInnis, and Avery McInnis, and JadiLayne Hammack; sisters, Norma Wesson (Jimmy), Jeannette Daniels (Monty), Hazel Jean Hearn, Nancy Zinardi (David), and Doris Tate (Late Roy Tate); and brothers, David White (Kathi) and Terry White (Cheryl).
